PPC Clinical Class Setting

By Dave Quinn, Medical Educator, Platinum Educational Group

In the PPC clinical class setting where the administrator has the option to click a button that allows the preceptor to sign the student documentation. When/If they choose to activate that, it locks the student documentation from that point on.

Students aren't allowed to do anything after that point. When/if they turn that feature on, it opens up 3 more buttons that allow them to loosen that restriction. 2 of the options are pretty straightforward allowing them to fill out forms and upload documents.

A major item to highlight is the one that "allows them to observe patients after the signature".  If the administrator turns that on it allows the student to do just that, but observing a patient doesn't give the student credit for the patient contact, only choosing successful or unsuccessful gives the student credit. My guess is most people think when they activate the allow students to observe patients, it's allowing them to get credit for the contact, which it doesn't.

Below are images on the above in detail.  Our team is always available if you need assistance with this feature.
